Born in Sligo, Ireland and raised between Ireland, Japan and New York City, Rountree moved to NYC at the age of 18 where he worked part time as a handyman and as an assistant to a small desktop publishing firm.

After the horrific fall of the twin towers, Rountree began to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a photojournalist. Since 2002, Rountree’s award winning work has been showcased in newspapers, magazines, galleries and books globally.

Rountree believes that the smallest gestures of kindness, compassion, anger or tyranny have a significant impact on individuals and society as a whole. Rountree’s primary interest lies in documenting the human condition and the passion that drives us.
